Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hi @Shaz51

You have an infected ingrown toenail, diabetes and you are now your mother's carer

You certainly don't go in for doing things by halves - oh my - you do have a lot to deal with

I have an ingrown toenail too - I have had 10 days of antibiotics and I think it's ready to be taken to a podiatrist though I have no idea of how that will help - about a year ago I had a piece taken out of my toenail because it has a hook in it - same thing and I inherited this weird thing from my father who had the same thing with the same toe - thanks Dad - I really could have done without that genetic problem - ah - not

About the diabetes - I have to have a look back on your thread but I think you said you are seeing a dietician - I eat lots of vegetables myself and love them but I have this thing about cauliflour and brocolli - I really do not like them - there are somethings I will eat if they are on my plate but those two - no way but it's creepy the way a dietician has an idea that what we reall dislike is going to cure us

Regardless Shaz - I wish you the best and I take it that it is Diabetes two and I hope that diet does the trick for you

And you mother is one strong lady and it must be hard for her to have to have a carer but wow - you are fantastic to take this on as well as Mr Shaz and your own health issues. I do wish you the bes with all of this

You are an is an inspiration to me

Hello @Sophia1

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hopefully things will ease a little as Mr Shaz's pain level goes down  @Shaz51

Anxiety + pain = 😬😬😬

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Wow @Shaz51 You have had so much going on, with Mr Shaz, our mum and you.

Heart

Congrats on losing the weight.

Can I copy that please ...

Wishing you all healing.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hi @Shaz51

Is Mr Shaz likely to have a breakdown - I sorta had the feeling that his going to bed was a safety thing for him - maybe not. There are times when things must be really hard for him

Wow - having your capped tooth break so soon after having the work done is not good at all - I had veneers on my teeth and they lasted for ages - I am not sure if this is the same thing but still - it's not as if you have stacks of time for yourself - you are caring for two other people as well as yourself

Them's the breaks

I hope you do get to take a cruise with your Mum and Mr Shaz doesn't break down - none of you need that

And seeing as I am short on kids I love it that I am a second Mum

I love being a second MumI love being a second Mum

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

@Shaz51, hope you can find some other sort of special time to have with your Mum, since the cruise is no longer an option. Thinking of you.
