Hi @Shaz51
I came across a post of yours on another thread and learned that you have diabetes
I am sorry to hear about that - you have enough health problems already and this is one more and it has to be just another thing for you and Mr Shaz and particulary Poor Little Kidney
I'm sorry to learn this - I hope you will be okay - I am sure you will be as you are such a strong lady but still
It's really hard for me to imagine
Sending my best thought to the little family

I prefer kale in a veg juice than as a side veg @Former-Member @Shaz51 I blend it in my ninger. Silverbeat is nice steamed though. Definitely better fresh picked than from the shop.

I think with any green veggies the trick is how you cook them. Overcooked is never nice, but it's too often the way people remember them. I'll often chop them up and add them to a casserole or mornay or suchlike for the last few minutes of cooking, or just lightly braise them. The "green" content in tonight's Shepherd's Pie is parsley and chickweed. Chickweed is a surprisingly good "wild green", so instead of pulling it out when weeding the garden, I've been leaving it to grow. Nice mild spinachy flavour cooked, and can also be used like lettuce in salads.

Definitely like my greens slightly crunchy (par cooked) @Smc. Cauliflower the same.
