A rough year indeed @MDT, I'm so sorry. I really hope things shift for you soon - and we are here with you in the meantime

Hi Hamza
Feeling under-valued and drained at work is not the best way to find your feet in the current climate - what you say about the people you work with could be true - young people caught in the current and the older people staying because it feels safe I guess - it could be why they seem so shallow and bitter
It seems to me that many people get a university degree they don't want and don't need and are disillusioned and worn out early in life - maybe they would have been better off doing an apprenticeship - my daughter finished high school early in Year 12 - and we were happy to start her off in an apprenticeship and she flourished there. We need tradies - many people would be happier I think
Doing something to please other people isn't the way to go - I think you already know that but you are having trouble sorting it out right now but it is wearing you down
Perhaps if you took time off to catch your breath and find your feet you could find a job where writing skills are vital - it is an important skill anyway. And you do write well here - and I am qualified to say that - it comes through how exhausted you are
I wish you well - I hope your family is supportive - I hope they understand -
Personally I wouldn't be bothered with on-line dating - it could lead to more feelings of exclusion - I had a bit of a look at it when I first got on-line - a long time ago now - I had to ask why so many men were interested in having a date with someone in another country - and now I know that cat-fishing happens -
You seem like a worthwhile person to me - just jaded with your job draining you - worn thin by 9.30 am - not the best way to have a good day -
I really care about you

Hi @MDT . Just have a quick moment to think about you, my friend. I hope you are okay. Please keep on writing as I enjoy reading what you get up to.
I had a phone appointment with my GP today and I told him I was back writing. He was quite impressed to know that it was how I was dealing with certain things in my life. I find it to be therapeutic and I'm really enjoying it. Is that how you feel about writing? Have you considered journalism if writing is what you like? At least it's a career but it's just an idea of course. I agree with @Owlunar you do write very well and I'm impressed with your writing skills and talent. Please don't waste it.
