Re: My Hospital Stay

(insert lots of swear words here for @utopia )

That sucks - again @utopia They are totally messed up - I can hear the dialogue now...

Utopia "I have been in hospital and nearly died..."

Centrelink "but in between nearly dying and hospital there was time you could have been looking for work"

Utopia " Only in funeral homes as I was there picking out a coffin"

Centrelink "Well if you had time to choose coffins then you had time to look for work"

Re: My Hospital Stay

Hi @utopia - I don't understand how they can argue with a medical certificate? so if your "injury" isn't temporary then it's permanent and if so you're entitled to a lump sum payment and disability pension is that what they are suggesting? People in these jobs nearly always back down if you give them work to do. I find bombarding them with facts and figures just confuses them and then they just give up. They like to aim for the easy targets and avoid the real ones. Just give them the facts embelished with lots of useless confusing information and you'll find you tend to get your own way. Take care and look after yourself... sounds like you're making some good progress despite the d__kh__ds at centrelink

Re: My Hospital Stay

And tomorrow I'm meant to give them my next medical certificate. Niw going to have to drive into the big town, wait til they can see me & then explain it all again. And I have to keep my cool. Because CentreLink staff get annoyed when you start yelling and calling them idiots.
I'm off to take a prn calmer or two.
I'm so friggin annoyed. They need to back off and leave me alone.

Re: My Hospital Stay

Suggestion - tell Centrelink that you applied to be a hospital cleaner / orderly / tealady ten times a day while you were in the psych hospital ... to no avail .... unfortunately ....

Can you get someone to rubber stamp that for you ?

💜 ... hang in there sweetheart ....

Re: My Hospital Stay

Thanks for the laugh @Faith-and-Hope - pretty much sums up C'link. @itopia, I'm speechless how you're treated, feel for you. Well done keeping it our cool. Shaking my head here 💜

Re: My Hospital Stay

Yes I could do that @Faith-and-Hope. Except I'll say that I applied to be a Psychiatrist, a Psychologist and a Facilitator of Groups.
Sitting here now at CentreLink. Mum drove. Don't think I could drive today. Wish I had taken my prn calmers before I came.
The period they say I had to look for work. Was the 3 days prior to my 2nd admission. My 8 day stay - up til when I 'broke' the Old Bugger. The night in the ED. The 2 days in hotels with my mum while I was being looked after by the CAT Service. And my 3rd hospital Admission just after that.
They are beyond stupid - these anonymous people who make these stupid decisions. Andthen they leave it up to the oordinary CentreLink worker, to fix up their mess.
Meanwhile I had to double my prn last night. They just don't get the damage they cause. Or they don't care.

" Except I'll say that I applied to be a Psychiatrist, a Psychologist and a Facilitator of Groups."

I would have loved to have made this suggestion @utopia ..... but wanted to know that you would appreciate the humour in it first ..... laugh or cry huh ??!

Hugs n hugs Hon ..... 💜

Re: My Hospital Stay

The CentreLink worker 'fixed' it & my certificate is now approved. She has also put a request on my screen (as per my request) - that before they reject a medical certificate - that they phone me first - to find out the reason.
Bloody idiots.
Still feeling anxious. Just want to go home and go to bed.

Re: My Hospital Stay

Oh and there were no notes on the screen to say why they rejected my last medical certificate.
Starting to feel paranoid that they are in cahoots with WorkCover to send me mad.

Re: My Hospital Stay

Well done @utopia .... well sorted for now .....

Breathe Hon ...... ❣️
