Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @Sophia1

I am feeling rather iffish this afternoon but I thought I would share what I think is a funny story about my mother

This lady you spoke of who shrieks at you during hydrotherapy - maybe she is deaf and can't hear herself cause -

One of the last times I visited my mother in the Aged Care Facitily where she was with my Dad at the time -  she yelled at me all the way to their appartment

"How are ya?"

"What have ya being doing?"

"What did ya say?"

Coninued ....what! what! what! while I yelled back getting more and more distressed and nearly crying until we got to their room where I got to their appartment where I could get a drink of water and talk in a normal voice. I was sooooo embarrassed

I was seeing my GP and I was in tears - she didn't have to yell at me - I could hear her perfectly - my GP told me she couldn't hear herself and this was true - and something in her refused to use hearing aids - which I am told happens with aged people

Regardless that it can seem funny and I laugh now - being followed by someone shrieking about their stuff and being repetitive would be really hard to take - old age can be cruel but still - we would like to have a pleasant experience at the pool

I am always scared of getting my back knocked by someone - and it is real - it has happened - it spoilt the experience when I was about the tallest person there and could stand at the deep end without any trouble but the therapist wanted me nearer the group

I hope it works out for you though and you seem to get benefit from it - but deaf people - oh dear - my Dad lost his sight and seemed better off - I think deafness can isolate people socially -

This was meant to be a quick note - it's windy and sunny here today

All the best Sophia - DecHeart

Re: Hi , and company... Shaz, Apple, Sophia... ... ... Ho...

Hi @Owlunar I was feeling more iffish yesterday.  Perhaps it was today's court looming.

@Sophia1   @Owlunar knows more about it. The attention was subtle and slight and nothing compared with the injuries my son endured since October, but my son is also subtle so hope it all adds to a more positive experience of the justice system longterm. I had to say for all its faults, that without some rule of law and a justice system society would be a pretty ugly place in this dog eat dog world.

Smiley Indifferent pressed lips.

Good News:  Last night was he was asked to understudy a lead role in "work" of the moment as well as chorus.  That has done wonders for his self esteem.  Its better than him getting the role as that would be too heavy a responsibility. This way he gets to ease back into his creative life.  It was so good hearing him be enthusiastic when he came in the wee hours this morning. Of course that lifts my mood.

Have a better day All

oh @Appleblossom

I still don't understand ...perhaps I don't need to...

I do feel elated reading that he has been chosen to understudy a lead role as well as chorus....I remember quite some time ago he was in opera ....

Reading of his enthusiasm has lifted my spirits also...

I do feel lifted when hearing of males receiving recognition for their hard work...

joy for you both

nice to hear Cat Happy

Re: Hi , and company... Shaz, Apple, Sophia... ... ... Ho...

I dont mean to be obscure.I have generally been frank, but also want to protect his confidentiality. Briefly ..  @Sophia1 In October he had his second episode BP1. Went to ED dept on a Sunday, turfed out onto the street without his wallet or ID and was arrested next day.  I listen to the other cases and I am disgusted out how bad my son was treated.

Re: Hi , and company... Shaz, Apple, Sophia... ... ... Ho...

Hi @Appleblossom

Still feeling very ordinary tonight - I am wondering with a ham and tomato sandwich will do for dinner tonight - I don't have an appetite - anyway

I am really disgusted about how your son was treated too - I thought the ED was a place where people went for treatment - not very helpful at all - I am so sorry -

These things are hard to deal with - I remember - they do wear us down - honestly - I have been relieved not having all the chaos now but it has been a really hard change of circumstances to live with

I am wishing you the best Apple - and your son

oh my goodness @Appleblossom @Owlunar you would feel this too...

That is appalling....

oh sorry I have a thousand questions and am so enraged....

No need to answer anything...sorry I did not mean to come across as pressing you for information...

I am just speechless...in this day and age...

Just as well that you don't know me in real life...I would not let this rest....

This gives some insight into some of your posts...

I just don't know what to say appleblossom...my heart goes out to you and your son..

Not wanting to dampen the latest news that he has received some respect and this has lifted his self esteem...

He has been recognised and rewarded for his talent...further lifting his self esteem..

following through with lifting his mum's spirits along with his...

It would have been a lovely moment seeing that proud smile on his face...

A huge hug for you both...not sure if you are into hugs...of course I would ask first...

bless you both Heart

Aww shucks @Sophia1, thank you 😁

Re: Life can be a Pain

You have a good point there @Owlunar

I think this particular lady who has travelled the world and was well educated..is used to standing up in front of all and talking ....

she loves to talk...she has a very busy schedule...

she does repeat herself a lot though which along with the laughing shrilly (my meaning of shrieking) as well as admitting that her memory is not good...I think perhaps aging process is catching up with her...

she often talks about moving back to the city...as she lives on her own on a farm...

mind you my memory is not the best...mine is foggy with confusion...

there are several of us there with foggy minds...entertaining at times...

you must be quite tall to stand up in the deep end....

the pool is not for everyone...

Re: Hi , and company... Shaz, Apple, Sophia... ... ... Ho...

@Sophia1   I appreciate your general presence on the forums and opinions. Without knowing what is going on it is hard to give support.  It is part of the reason I dont go for the more feeling conversations. I always try and see context.

@Owlunar

Thank you both for your commiserations about this predicament.  We are doing the work and will get through, but it has been a huge pressure on me over last 8 months.
