Chest Pain and Anxiety

Re: Chest Pain and Anxiety

Hi @Maggie

Old age - it is a real thing and I guess it hits us all differently and at different times - and I can hear what you are saying

You felt better seeing  your old doctor even though it's a long way away - and yes - it can be really hard picking up the phone sometimes - I really get that

It's really a blast when you eat well yet still get bad colesterol - I don't eat junk food either - I had a long chat with my pharmacist about good and bad colesterol and learned a few things - my diet was not at fault but my sore legs caused me not to walk for a few months and that seemed to stuff my BP up . I have been able to take a walk nearly every afternoon lately and I am feeling better whatever the reason

But then I was also told that it has a lot to do with my age and my genes and ouch - I inherited all this from my parents who have also given me the genes for longetivity so I can enjoy all the old age stuff for longer.

And all of this is a hurdle - I hear you

Re: Chest Pain and Anxiety

Hi @Appleblossom

You are also a gift - platinum or not -

I didn't even know birthdays had elements attached to them until yesterday and my doctor mentioned it - wow - actually seeing my doctor yesterday was great - he was really pleasant and pleased with my health - after a bad run I seem to have come out the other side and he has been caring all the way through it

He asked me about having a holiday - I have the anniversary after my birthday so I take a break about then - I don't know where to go yet - and he talked about his holiday - it was more like a social visit

Thanks Apple

Re: Chest Pain and Anxiety

Yes spend the day with people whose company you enjoy @Owlunar. I've never heard of platinum before. So maybe say it's your 75th birthday. They might be as dumb as me on platinum etc.
@Appleblossom. Thanks. My last drink was the last Sunday in March. Have really good days where I don't even think about it. And then days where I struggle a lot. That's because I don't like to feel.

Re: Chest Pain and Anxiety

I'm so proud of you @utopia for having your last drink in March. That's fantastic.

Re: Chest Pain and Anxiety

@utopia You're just a kidlet, a young thing. Well done you, proud of you.

Re: Chest Pain and Anxiety

Lol. Don't feel like a kidlet @Maggie. Feel old and worn out some days. Other times I think I'm still a teenager.

Re: Chest Pain and Anxiety

Hi @Former-Member

I had a couple of bad days with my back pain - it can feel so destructive - I have a really lovely place to live but this place is cold for a few weeks in winter - I have carpet over a concrete slab and - yeah - okay - I feel better today

So I am thinking about my birthday and the anniversary and how they come one after the other - so I think I will take my little family out to dinner for my birthday and then go away for a few days after that - I have been walking most days and it does help to make me feel better and it is a beautiful day here today and I think I will walk further

Thinking about where to go for a few days in winter isn't easy - I really loved being in Canberra two years ago - middle of winter or not - the hotel where I was staying was right in the city centre and I could go outside in the evenings are walk around - people were busy doing the same and it was well lit and I really enjoyed myself there in spite of the anniversary and winter - actually the weather was fabulous

HI @utopia

Well done with going such a long time without a drink - that is great to hear - I have no idea how hard it can be for you but it must be - I take my hat off to you

Taking my hat off to youTaking my hat off to youhats off.pngI'm learning about the new format here

And Utopia - I do not feel like a kidlet either - my hair dresser can rub me up the wrong way a bit - okay - she does an okay job with my hair but she said about my age

"You are only as old as you feel"

Okay - she was told to wait until she gets here but what does that phrase mean anyway - if we feel old then we are? That our age is up to us in some way? What? Anyway I gave her one of my lines - like to wait until she gets here

And my other phrase is better - I say to people while I am battling to get myself in or out of cars or picking stuff up of the floor -

"I'm getting old - that's my new excuse and it's working for me. I'm keeping it"

Actually - friend not-always-kidlet - I feel okay today

And I wish you the best
