the staff will prepare him for you to be with him and they will support you. They should let you stay as long as you need. Lots of people will talk to you abou what’s next and all that. They should give you written information too so you can look at it later.  There will be lots of practical stuff to do and the next few days will be terrible and busy. You cannot drive yourself home. And you need to keep up fluids and when you are up to it ,light meals. If I was there I would make them for you.
