Mmmm... Summer... @outlander
No cold hands! I can walk around the house in barely nothing and sit on my back veranda taking it easy. I don't need to mow my lawn as often if it doesn't rain and the sunshine makes me feel good.
Lots of songs are about Summer...

summer - too hot for this lil greenpea. I stay inside as much as possible out of the sun. The only time I come out is when the sun has gone down like a bug 😛

I love summertime. Yeah, sometimes the heat is hard to handle (especially hot nights) but still, I find the wide blue skies and the straw dry land somehow invigorating. I grew up in a rural city, moved to the Big Smoke for a while and then back out to a country town in anotherr region, but in both my birthplace and my current home, I always felt more "at home" in the places that are more connected to the landscape. Small towns, farms and bushland. Am very in agreement with Dorothea Mackellar- "The wide brown land for me". 🙂 https://www.dorotheamackellar.com.au/archive/mycountry.htm

@Mazarita, I love your post from yesterday about water. Beautifully poetic and evocative. 🙂

I loved beaches and used to follow the sun when I was young so had an 18 month summer once.
These days I am like @Bunniekins and avoid the heat, but I do like going outside late on a balmy summer evening.

I love water - I used to swim a lot - I love the beach - I have driven for miles along coast roads and my favourite is the Great Ocean Road - beautiful scenery
And I could stand in the shower until the hot water ran out - actually that might have happened but I don't remember
As a Cancerian I am a cardinal water sign - and the interesting thing is that my ex-h - my daughter's father - was born under Scorpio and my daughter herself was born under another water sign - Pisces. My mother was born under Cancer too and my father and grand-daughter were born under Aquarius which is an air sign but it's called the Water Bearer and so my daughter is surrounded by water signs etc and I think that this is magical for her - and she really suits all of this
Water is such wonderful stuff - I love it - it comes in so many different forms and life cannot exist without it - our planet is unique and mostly because of water
I could go on - I am late but it's better late than never

Love summer too! Especially in Australia. Forgetting to wear thongs to the beach and getting the bottoms of your feet burnt walking/running to and from the car, the sound of cicadas, christmas day is a mixed bag but there is always backyard cricket. Christmas beetles. Hot days followed by cool afternoon thunderstorms. Camping. These are the things that come to mind when i think of summer. Although technically now it's yesterday's word! Haha!
