Living with Ourselves

Re: Living with Ourselves

I'm feeling a bit better today, thanks @Sophia1 Though I was still dizzy.

Those dreaded Corellas make lovely pets (if raised from young) - & live for up to 70 years (pet ones).

That's a long time to look after a pet - some out-live their owners.

Fortunately they don't seem so destructive here.

I love eastern rosellas, I had some pet ones as a teenager.

Here we have the western rosella (smaller & less bright), although mainly further south (not in city).

I have never seen a Magpie that wasn't vocal - although I don't mind, I think they sound lovely.

It's a different Magpie here on the west coast, it's the White-backed Magpie (has a different song too).

My Budgies are so happily chatting to each other, that I don't think they notice what's outside - I have a whole family of Budgies now.

Re: Living with Ourselves

Good morning @Adge

We have large flocks of corellas seasonally here and they cause much damage to vegetation as well as scaring off other native birds...

We manage to scare them away temporarily but they always come back another time...

I think that you are right about the budgerigars in the aviary...ours were born in there ...older ones now passed on...they might not even realise that they are other species of birds flying around outside....

Re: Living with Ourselves

this image does not emphasise the large flocks of corellas that are nuisances and causing devastation to vegetation...scaring off other birdlife...

this is only a small flock of corellas.jpg

Re: Living with Ourselves

good morning @Shaz51

I have managed to post the same image twice ...laugh...

lack of sleep is not kind...

how are you and Mr Shaz...

I can understand that certain parts of the series of what not to ask would trigger anxiety for him...It is good that he monitors himself what not to watch...

How is your health now?

Re: Living with Ourselves

I am not in a good place at the moment...

I have felt the dreaded d lurking for some time...managing to keep it at bay despite ongoing meteorites...

now my feelings have taken over...
