That is absolutely stunning @Adge
I have focussed on growing yellow roses since my father told me about 25 years ago that his favourite colour rose was yellow..
I love antique cream roses and yellow roses
I have successfully gown yellow banksia rose climbers in my last two homes...
will look into this one when we move..the garden will then be far more sheltered..
what areas do they thrive better in or better still under what conditions?
bed time now...
pool tomorrow..
are you working?
night night

I wish that I could have show you the range of roses bushes..standard roses..climbers and landscape roses when I wa able to garden and doing it all..
perhaps Spring coming some might have survived...
one can hope

I love all these yellow roses and other flowers - what can I find to add
My contribution
I forget what the post was about now - something about being positive and lovely sunrise pics - I see some lovely sunrises from my place too but there are buildings in the way - less inspiring - sunset can be brilliant too - I often take a walk at sunset just to enjoy it
Adge - someone ringing at 5.30 am would get short-shrift here - someone ringing at 9.00 am is not popular either. All I can say is that the other person has a time problem and it's hard but it's not your problem - you can be irritated about it and I would be certainly
So whatever you feel it's okay - there are times when we are not available but we leave our phones on - for emergencies obviously
Sigh - sorry about that Adge and it's great to have this competition for yellow flowers

Hello @Owlunar@Adge@eudemonism@Shaz51@Former-Member
Last night we went out to the local pub that we love for a meal....spontaneous decision suggested by myself late afternoon..
did us both good...
when we arrived back home...the stars in the sky just grew within our vision the more we looked up....there is also a very bright satellite almost above our house....
perhaps we are entertaining someone somewhere...laugh..
I thought of you and your great knowledge Dec....I struggle looking up at the moment as stretches on my spine...
have never been good at spotting the star formations other than the saucepan....
so I have found some starry night images to share...

Hi @Sophia1
Your pics aren't up yet but I think I know the bright firey object you saw is Mars which is very close to the earth this year - this won't happen again for a long time - I think it's natural that I will not see this as bright again
I woke up early a few days back and looked outside my bedroom window and I could see a blurry bright red light in the west and fussed around and found my glasses and it was Mars - looking bigger because it was setting and it is brilliant certainly
I know how hard it is to look up at the sky at night - I nearly fall over - my back is very stiff in the lumbar spine and I am not in a hurry to fall on my back - I understand
It's so good you went out for a meal at the local pub - I should do that - we have a hotel where the food is excellent not far from here but I never think of it.
That's such a good idea
I was fascinated by the moon when I was a small child and my grandmother would take me outside in the evenings or early mornings to see it - and inevitably I started to ask questions about why it kept changing which she didn't try and answer. My father did though and we would go out with his binoculars to have a look at it and then the planets and constellations. Having parents and grandparents who share their knowledge makes it very easy to start learning and once begun it becomes a realy interest and I am thankful for that
We have lost so much due to light polution and I noticed this when I was in Canberra a couple of years ago - I could see so much from the balcony of my hotel room.
It was wonderful
I am looking forward to your pics coming up

Hi @Sophia1 Yes I've been out working today.
So you like yellow roses too, excellent.
There is a yellow Banksia rose as well (completely thornless), although the white seems more common.
I've not seen them in years.
Small leaves that remind me of the Weeping Willow (leaves), that I grew up with.
Rugosa roses like a hot or very sunny spot, although they can survive the cold well.
They prefer sandy soil, but can happily manage without sandy soil - as long as it's well-drained (not boggy or clay).
Yes, my garden is a story of survival (unfortunately) - only the hardiest well-established plants have survived.
They put on a good flower display though - Hibiscus, Grevilleas, & the lovely Lamarque (white) old heritage climbing rose.
I'm very sore & achy at the moment, especially my back. I was unable to get a massage today (they were closed) - so am having to endure it.

Thanks @Owlunar The sudden Date cancellation knocked me about (emotionally) yesterday.
So hard not to take it personally, as people do seem to do that sort of thing to me repeatedly - more often than necessary.
Lovely yellow rose picture.
