Re: Living with Ourselves

Oh Plovers @Sophia1 That might make sense.

Thanks for your lovely pictures.

I have the same difficulty - I hear lovely little birds tweeting in the bushes often.

They rarely come out to show themselves.

Even the finches in my aviary never sit still long enough for me to count them - which is why I'm never quite sure of the exact numbers. Was that 10 Zebras, or was it 12?...

My Date (coffee meetup) for this morning cancelled permanently - I had not met her yet.

She sent me a text message at 5.30am, to say that she's not ready to meet anyone (or Date).

I'm trying not to take it personally - even though she was the first compatible person to be interested, in a long time.

I'm trying to put myself out there - yet find it difficult to meet people through online dating.

I'm in danger of becoming too dissilusioned, & of giving up on it.

Like happened years ago, after much perseverence.

Goto give myself a hug (if that's possible).

Re: Living with Ourselves

Hello @Adge

Someone cancelling at 5.30am in the morning does not sound like a person you need in your life at this moment or any moment perhaps...

I managed to confuse myself...I thought that you had met someone previously ...who had called you to say would meet up again in a few weeks...did I dream that?

It is not you...even though it would be hard not to take personally...

my younger son has been down that track...he has relayed some incredible stories back to me...some looking nothing like their photographs...others turning up late...with repeated text message excuses...

no he is still not in a relationship although has made some friends...he is very particular though...

Also now is now not the same as years ago...you are a different person now...

I had to smile  at counting the finches....we have gradually witnessed the demise of several canaries....a year or so again I would start to count then it was a bit like musical chairs....they all switched perches....

now we are down to three...still have to look in all hideouts that they have to see them some days...

For some reason the number of plovers is increasing...so perhaps they are nesting somewhere nearby...they have just all flown off to the farm next door....no ...as I write two have just flown back to prove me wrong....Cat Happy

a big hug for you....

and anyone else passing by who needs one...

Re: Living with Ourselves

Yellow roses are my favourite @Sophia1 A cuddly kitten never goes astray, either.

Happy Plovers breeding up eh? Sounds like my Budgies, about 14 at the moment (or maybe more)...

Yes hopefully will meet someone again, in a few weeks - no contact in between.

Online dating is very convoluted, & doesn't flow or develop naturally (I feel).

Usually any occasional contacts (because it doesn't happen often) have incompatible goals - are not looking for the same thing (or relationship).

They're mostly up to 20 years older than me (ie 70) - good for a new friendship perhaps.

Re: Living with Ourselves

Sorry to hear about that person cancelling on you @Adge but as @Sophia1 said - it is not you - and it is their loss Adge Heart

I hope that person you met last week wants to meet again - you seemed to get on quite well from what you wrote - fingers crossed for you Smiley Happy

Thanks for the cat cuddles @Sophia1 - we all need those occasionally Heart

Re: Living with Ourselves

Thanks @Zoe7 Yes I'm always up for some cat cuddles...

Re: Living with Ourselves

hello @Adge

Gosh why do people get in touch if you both are incompatible with different goals? that does not equate to me....

I think that perhaps you have undersold yourself....

on a more lighthearted note....we could write a truer profile for you ....

friendships are good too...

Yes the plovers have been back this afternoon with their relatives in tow I believe....

spring is in the air....

Re: Living with Ourselves

Rosa rugosaRosa Rugosa Scabrosa - A Rugosa (species) Rose called Scabrosa.

One of my all-time favourites.

I used to have them in my garden.

Re: Living with Ourselves

Yellow Agnes Rugosa RoseAgnes - the only Yellow Rugosa Rose.

I used to have these in my garden too.

I love Rugosa Roses (from Japan & China) - they like sandy soils, which most roses don't tolerate.

It's very sandy here, pure grey sand.
