@Former-Member are there other towns close by via public teansporr so you could get out of the quiet country town when you wanted to ? Maybe go stay in the city (outskirts) occasionally for an overnight, where you could catch up with your son for dinner, then go home again the next day ? Visit gallieries and cottage industries as a “tourist in your own town” around the local area for day trips ? Time to invest in you .....

lol @Former-Member my son made similar comments when we bought this place 16 years ago. I was thinking of country town, but he wanted the city. A lot of it is just sounding more grown up than they are, as they are not really in the position to make the decision. Now he is less impressed with your neighbourhood, but it was important for me to keep an open democratic collaborative style. Also recently getting help re these boundary thingos.
Glad that you are thinking more positively about your right to a good retirement.
I love the brick walls in the lounge.
Sometimes the grapevine can be beneficial. I agree with @Smc I heard about a great workshop on weekend, through networking and connecting.
Also by taking time to do the work and prepare yourself financially as well as emotionally, you might surprise yourself, with a great outcome.
Good Luck in the interim. Steady she goes.

@Former-Member what a beautiful place, so light and airy. It looks just the kind of size I would be looking for in a few years time.

I suggest you use the money to look after you @Former-Member. It’s not selfish, it’s being responsible ..... responsible for you ..... self-care.
The place looks lovely ❣️
Trips out of town sound wonderful, and some small towns have a fantastic community spirit.
See how you go .....

Hi @Former-Member
Ah - I have found you over here -
We all need to invest in ourselves - I do this every few months when I take a luxury trip - sometimes I think I fly interstate because I enjoy flying business class and as I live a fairly inexpensive life this is what I do to please myself - just a few days a couple of times a year and I am getting used to going overseas when my cat finally gives up the ghost - she is in good health yet so it's just interstate. I love her too much to leave her for long - there is no way I can tell her I will be back
If you invest in real estate your son will get it in the future anyway - and he can be grumpy at times - he will go on being grumpy so let him wait
You are important - we love you here - I have been reading back on the messages here and wonder - you are worth it - you are not less than - the people around you feed your MI as you say and although I don't understand that I know you are worthwhile and investing in your own life is a good idea
You may not be up to taking interstate trips but having car or bus trips and looking at galleries and churches can feed your soul
That's it - you are God's child and need to feed your soul - I do - I do the things I enjoy - I hope you can do the same
I care about you so much - and I saw the pic of the living room of that house - if it has been on the market for a while then you can ask why and use this as a talking point to get the price down - people do that all the time - sometimes just to get it off their hands
I wish you the best with that Lapses because you are worth the best

@Former-Member, it's worth trying the 110k offer. If they refuse, you've got 5k of negotiating power still up your sleeve.
