Re: SPRING-Clean Declutter - Need Help

BRAGTIME!
Being garbage night I topped tge bins up (recycle & normal waste) by going through x2 boxes in the sunroom. Thats my 2 items for the day @Former-Member, well, quite a bit more actually. Found some magic things I've been looking for too 😁. @Zoe7 - started sanding off the 2nd lot of woodfill on the drawers to paint 😁Gotta go to shop now but that's a step closer 😁

Re: SPRING-Clean Declutter - Need Help

Re: SPRING-Clean Declutter - Need Help

Hi @Former-Member - well done, always a good feeling to be making progress and great to reveal some lost treasures. I didn't get rid of anything today but while I've got a full water tank I:

  • Washed the car
  • Hosed down the driveway to get rid of all the dried mud form the storms last week
  • Washed all the windows from the outside
  • Pulled out some dead pot plants
  • Pruned some trees
  • Had a bit of a tidy up in the garage

I hope we all have a productive day tomorrow too.

Re: SPRING-Clean Declutter - Need Help

Thanks @Owlunar I haven't got as far as any further discussions with my neighbour yet.

It's colorbond that she wants, to replace the 45 year old Jarrah fence. I'm in agreement on that, because it's actually the cheapest, most cost-effective replacement option.

No one puts in Jarrah anymore, it's far too expensive - although the only reason that it's lasted so long, is because it was Jarrah.

Jarrah is so hard that termites blunt their beaks on it, when they try to chew it. Termites can only get into it when it's very weathered, or rotten.

What I don't understand is that my neighbour lived in her house since new (45 years), & has not repaired or replaced anything - it's all very run-down, & worn out. Now suddenly she does seem to want to fix or replace things.

Then when I came along, I seemed to be given the bills (& responsibility) for repairing 45 years worth of neglect...

I moved into an old house, I didn't have the pleasure of living in it when it was new (or of having everything new).

Oh thanks @Former-Member, and you've done really well too. Cleaning free space we've cleared is all part of it 👍
@Former-Member, love your whoo hoo owl ☺ thanks, i was a few hard memories but I did a bit more ☺
@Kurra, you remember! Thanks for saying, I still can't believe I'm still working 2days a week. They even said it there today how well my confidence has grown since starting in Jan. Feel free to be specific if you can, promise it won't swell my head lol Thanks Kurra 😀
Hi @Adge, if I were you, I'd only agree to pay for 1/2 the cheapest fence. And even then you'll have to enter a payment plan. And don't sign anything. And ask to see any quotes. Get yourself a quote for a cheap fence and show her that. When my neighbour hit me up for a colorbond fence he put in, I asked if I could see the invoice & quotes. He couldn't produce them and didn't bring me in on any decision making. So I didn't pay anything and now they've moved. Try not to let it get to you. My guess is a they're prepared to pay the full price, because they can afford to, and being fussy.
Stay strong bro 🐦💜🐦

@Kurra
Don't recall mentioning a market stall, the credit might be due elsewhere but great you may have found a solution to deal with excess goods and chattels.

Re: SPRING-Clean Declutter - Need Help

Thanks @Former-Member You've given me some extra confidence (re fence).

Now that you mention it, she said that she is prepared to pay for most of it.

Unless I can somehow be part of the decision making process, & be told exactly what is being done (& see the contract) - I don't think it's fair to expect me to simply pay half of the costs.

Isn't it 2 steps back & one step forward (at least it feels like that)...

Re: SPRING-Clean Declutter - Need Help

Got some of those black velvet clothes hangers, sorted through wardrobe today and swapped clothes I want to keep, putting to one side items no longer required. Very pleased with the result, will share the good, saved a couple of bad for gardening and the ugly went into the bin.
