Life can be a Pain

Re: Life can be a Pain

It must be so frustrating not getting a definite diagnosis yet @Wanderer. And so many tests. Yes the nerve conduction tests are not the nicest. I used to be a receptionist in a hospital department that ran those tests. I tried it once to see what it was like. They did it on a low setting. A very strange feeling. I didn't like it at all. But we have to do what we have to do.
Your stress won't be helping. But it's not always easy to reduce it. Meditation and breathing exercises can help. But I find you need to practice for a while before the benefits show.
Wow that's a long wait for the results. Please let us know when you get them.
Well I'm off to bed now. Is freezing cold her, so sleeping in my old tracksuit. Lol. I look a million bucks. Lol.
I hope you get a good night's sleep

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @Wanderer

I am glad you found your way here and it seems you are meeting more people and this is a good thing

I have had a couple of tough days with my back pain - I felt fine on Saturday but the weather on Melbourne is cold so I haven't done much except use a wheat pack and I know you would understand this - it is darn frustrating

I need to read some threads and catch up with people - actually I have neglected this thread

All the best

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @Wanderer@utopia@Shaz51@Zoe7@Former-Member

I am really glad people are making Wanderer feel welcome - I read a little about CRPS on the net and it is a very complex disorder with so many different and varying symptom

It means Complex Sympathetic Regional Pain Disorder - I think - it needs all of those words - when I was a member of the Pain Website I met a lot of people with this and it is confusing and so often misdiagnosed - what a nightmare

Wanderer - when I joined this forum I was Decadian - when I bought a new computer for some reason I had to register again and I had been signing off my posts with Dec so I needed a new avatar name and stayed with Dec - same person - different computer

This is the place to air our problems and vent our frustrations - I find the social issues of Chronic Pain and Mental Illness to be similar - really hard for people who consider themselves to be normal to understand because they can't see it  I guess

Glad to see you found this thread

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @Shaz51

I hear you - the tests are getting bigger every year - I guess Poor Little Kidney becomes more vulnerable as you get older - as so many parts of me are - so not fair - we didn't sign on for all of this

In reality we never had any say in it at all but there are no escape clauses - aw - I am getting nit-picky today - I understand now much of a trial it all is though our trials are different - they are all hard to get on with - whatever they are

So with everything else you might have anaemia - you don't need that - AND I have a strong feeling that a lot of the iron-rich foods are not listed in your restricted diet

And iron pills - I think most of us know what they do to us

All the best with those tests - June seemed to be a long time ago when I read this on my phone the other day - today - it's already the 7th of May - June and winter are not far away at all

How is Mr Shaz right now - I think of him too - Hi Mr Shaz

Re: Life can be a Pain

thank you @Owlunar HeartHeart

Just arrived home from the hospital , I have a Bladder infection now Smiley Sad, a few day ago I thought I was getting a bug , but by yesterday it was getting worse and worse

My mr shaz has Bipolar11 now ( I believe he has always had it but not diagnosed ) -- I can`t remember if i told you or not

His anxiety has been very very high lately , and he has decided to stop drinking altogether now to see if that helps

wondering if his MI and meds need to be reviewed again , I love to make his life easier but .........

How are you today and your daughter xxxxx

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @utopia

I read about bruised patches with CRPS patients getting darl hair and sweating - aw....... your poor mother - that sounds horrendous - does that patch hurt as well?

And I remember Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia and RA - and now her her immune system is failing - I think a lot of these chronic issues are immune related - my grand-daughter has Chronic Fatigue Syndrome - and there are many of us in my father's family with similar cnronic disorders - it makes me wonder a lot - I think my grandmother was badly misunderstood but she has 5 descendents with chronic disorders so I don't think it was in any way imagined -

Things are improving as time passes - I see your mother as a very kind and helpful person - I didn't realise she was battling with all of this though

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @Shaz51

A bladder infection - what fun - really - I find them to be really painful and sometimes hard to shift - I hope they are able to give you some antibiotics - I know there are many things you can't take - aw - you did not need this - I hope it improves.

btw - when I have an irritable bladder - or an infection but now and again it is just plain irritable - I get a hot pack onto my tummy just as we did when we had the monthly thing I tend to forget about these days - it might help you - maybe it is already one of your go-to remedies

Aw - Mr Shaz - bipolar dx - I think you did mention it and he didn't want to have it - now he think he will stop drinking altogether - I guess you have suggested he just drink a bit less over days - I understand more and more about his anxiety - maybe accepting a bipolar dx as set him off and his anxiety is sky-high

It seems anxiety can make itself worse - I hope he takes the drinking thing slowly - Smiley Sad

Of course you want to make his life easier but ....................as you said

My daughter seemed to be a lot better last week and was planning to go back to work today - she had Easter off and went into hospital for the first operation straight after - and apart from a few exhausting half-days she was in bed mostly - sick of herself as well I guess - it was easy for me to get my bossy-mother voice on and tell her it was time to do something about all the pain she was in

From what she said her ovary was full of endometriosis - sounds horrible - I guess it's time for another text - actually I think we are fairly close to each other as long as we keep off each other's feet - but yes - I will text again today
