Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @Shaz51

I wish you the best with your endocrinologist today

I have to look that up to see what it means

Oh gee - that is a guy who has to have his finger on the pulse - (sorry about the pun) of all sorts of things to do with hormones - including diabetes

I hope he's cuteI hope he's cute

I hope all goes well today - I have the feeling that when you have an appointment it's the only time you can concentrate on your own health

Thinking of you today Shaz

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @utopia

How are you at the moment - I am hoping your mood is okay - I recall you were having a respite from your depression and I hope that is lasting

I hear you worked in aged-care for some years - now that is not something I have had anything to do with - I did visit both my grandmothers when they were in nursing homes - my Dad's mother I visited nearly every week for 13 years -

There were days when I would go in and she would have decided she wasn't seeing anyone that day but I understood - I would go out of one door and returned through another and she would be delighted to see me -

The nurses were great too - I told them she liked a cold one - would it be okay if I brought a can and frosty glass in now and again and they stared at the ceiling and said "Did you hear anything? Neither did I. What we don't know about we don't worry about."

So on hot days I would take a can and a glass in a little esky and when I took them out the glass would be frosty and even if she had decided to sleep that afternoon Granmother always woke up when she heard the can and the glass clink, I love that memory.

13 years is a long time to be in a nursing home - I wonder how many people get to stay even longer these days

Regardless Utopia - I do hope you are well and I think I had better find some clipart for you seeing as everyone else is getting some today

I'm really into clipart today - and enjoying myselfI'm really into clipart today - and enjoying myselfAw- that's a bigger pic than usual - I hope your day is as good as it can be

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @Shaz51

I felt a bit flat over the weekend but for some strange reason I do like Mondays - I think it's because there is a sense of order in a weekday that doesn't exist for me during weekends - I see my contacts during the week

I recovered from the bad night I had on Friday night by sleeping for a long time on Saturday - a really long time - I made a salad and a chicken sandwich and sat down to watch TV for a short while and when I woke up it was about 6 hours later - this is not a good idea - it took me a while to get myself moving again but I am okay today

All those specialists so many of us have to see - tomorrow I see the podiatrist - that crooked toenail I have needs to have a little piece clipped out every couple of months - it was so much better after I saw the guy last time - I didn't want to go back and have another serve of having a big piece taken out of my toenail - that was not fun at all

I hope all these visits help Shaz - you have so much on your plate I really can't imagine how you do it - I live by myself and really - for myself - but I am seeing my daughter this week which will be great - she will be seeing a surgeon herself in October - I really hope she doesn't have to have another operation - 3 in one year is three too many

All the best with the endocrinologist - I hope you feel better after you have been and seen this guy - I hope there is some light shining in the distance somewhere

Oh yeah - and talk about disturbing my routine - this week we have a public holiday for the Grand Final Parade - it took until a short time back for the Government to decided whether to have the holiday this year - it's not a popular reason for a holiday unless people want the holiday regardless of what they do with their free time - personally I think it's ridiculous - how many people really want to go to the parade - those who go - yes - maybe I am just a bah-humbug about it but that's because my Fridays are for assisted shopping and domestic help and this can be a problem

Enough of this
