Re: HOME

Went to pharmacy to get my blood pressure taken as requested by my new gp. She's of the opinion that my blood pressure is only high when I get it taken in her office. White collar syndrome. This is bulldust.
So today's reading at 5.35pm was 173/112. High. And this is with me taking my daily bp medication.
I started to worry - as I had a stroke 1 & 1/2 years ago. So I called nurse on call. Of course Ihad chest pain. I gget it when anxious. But I also had a sore left arm. She got the dr on call to ring me. He wanted me to go to hospital for the night and have some tests.
So the ambulance takes me. They give me a patch (to lower bp or ease pain - I don't know). Give me pain meds through a canular in my hand. And put a disolvable tablet under my tongue every 5 minutes (8 tablets in all).
So in the ED if the hospital I used to work at. Of course my anxiety rises again. My MI is from this workplace. So they hook me up to the monitors. Shows my heart is okay. Do a blood test and says it's okay but they will retest blood in 3 hours. Then give me a chest xray. Haven't told me those results.
I ask a nurse for pain meds for my headache. Haven't had pain meds since the ambulance 4 hours ago. So I'm waiting but no one comes with meds. I push the buzzer. I ask for meds for headache. Ok she says. She'll find some. 15 minutes later - still no nurse or meds. So I press buzzer again. She says she's busy with 2 chest pain patients. She'll get me my pain relief when she has time.
I ask her to unhook the heart monitor as I want to get up. I say I'll go outside and get some fresh air. No she says. I'm definitely not allowed outside. My heart is being monitored. I wait another 10 minutes. Still no nurse or meds. So I go outside and have my first cigarette in 5 & 1/2 hours. Only had half. Then went to loo. Then I get two mild over the counter pain relief and the nurse tells me the reason my headache is so bad is due to the meds I got in the ambulance. A side effect is a severe headache. And yet no one offered me pain relief and it took 45 minutes to get over the counter relief.
This is called the understaffed public health system.
So I shoukd meet dracular soon (blood nurse) & give a little more blood. Results take 45 minutes. If this second test is clear - then they will send me on my way.
Now by that time it will be after 2am. And I live 50 minutes away. I can't ask mum to come andget me. She ddoesn't drive at night. So I wonder how much a taxi will cost????
Do here I am at 1am.
Don't think I'll be going on my ParkRun 5km walk tomorrow morning - this morning. Was starting my new exercise routine. Oh well. I'll start a week later than everyone else.
Am very tired. Might try and get a snooze in.

Re: HOME

What a night you're having @utopia. Yes, I know the medication they gave you for your BP and chest pain. It opens your blood vessels very wide, hence the rush of blood to your head causing a headache.

Please take care of yourself and I hope you get home safe and well.
