@utopia I read on your other thread yesterday about HSP. I went onto a site a answered a quiz. I ticked every box. That amazed me. I've been talking to my counsellor about empathy, I really interesting topic and not a lot of info. I might be off topic here, but in my mind I'm trying to get out what I mean. Medically we respond differently. We feel things differently, more intense. That's not saying it's in our minds, sensitivity is high. I hope this makes a bit of sense to you.

Yes @utopia what a difference it would make. Learning, doing, working. The discussions I'm having with my counsellor are very interesting about empathy. She discribed it as coming from a higher level of comprehension. I read a little yesterday, some say it's learned. Not in my background. Others say it's in our genes. I don't have much family history. I just find it intriguing as I know someone with no empathy whatsoever. That was how our discussions started as I had no idea how people could be like that. Also the creativity side of things predisposes us to sensitivity. I might need to shut up, I'm on a roll. Off to do some more reading. Good chatting. Thanks.🙃🙃

Hey @utopia
I like this thread, though not the consequences ... of pounding heart rates ...
I had a very good doctor about 10 years ago and he treated me as if he presumed I had White Coat Syndrome, that is very gently and quetly explaining his actions, reasons, and medical procedures. He did put me on bp meds which I took for about 7 years. I am now off them and the underlying extreme anxiety is at the front of my current treatment. I believe that the meds helped keep me in some quieter level until I I gained increased level of support personally. My bp readings are high normal now so they are fine I am not taking those meds, but the other meds are increasing. My psychologists know that there role is about containing the stress and they try.
Personally I had to go through the issues of understanding what a raised heart rate re ... cardio at gym was about ... as before seeing this doctor I had been at gym for about 7 years for back and neck issues ... its been a long story. It is also why I know that my cure is not just about walking or more exercise ... its more subtle than that.
I will always be grateful for that male doctor's awareness and intelligent management of my health, beyond obvious, screaming out loud symptoms. He also saw my son, but had become sick and was not practising when I joined this forum. I felt totally isolated.
Love your humour @Owlunar

@utopia I wrote "felt" past tense. I am alright just low level and quiet after a few prn yesterday.
Yes it makes all the difference the quality of gp and from there on ...
A friend of mine talks about the "fire in the belly" which can motivate us to action. I think of that as a lower chakra ... chest is heart chakra ... chakras are about different energy centres in the body ...
I guess you are identifying with the plight of others as you have experienced similar.
