@utopia I'll attach a seat belt and a add some extra training wheels for more stability .. lol
I can't remember the last time I wanted to grab someone out of the tv screen, shake them and so some ... not so nice things to the... don't like Anthony ![]()
The nurse and ipswich man are my favourites too - he is adorable (and so is she most of the time). I think we may need the tissues tonight - looks like it is going to be a sad night ... bloody tv show arghhh!!!!
@Former-Member I used to have the kids pick one picture book and one non-fiction each for themselves and then they had to pick another 3 class books (from the library). I'm sure the library assistant tried to hide each time we went in because she'd have to check out over a hundred books each time we went. We always had around 300 library books in the classroom and I had my own personal collection of nearly 200. There were ALWAYS enough books!!!!!
One of my most memorable moments in the classroom was when I came back from a break one day and my Principal was supervising - I walked in and nearly every kid was sitting on the floor listening to their classmates reading to them - it was so quietand so lovely to see how engaged they were with their peers... and yes it did bring a tear to my eye ![]()
I have to head out for a while - the chemist closes early today. Will be back in an hour or so...
@Phoenix_Rising when you leave just place the key under the turtle pot plant in @utopia's new garden ... and @Former-Member and @Pepsimax and everyone else ...pull the door closed behind you so the flies don't get to what's left of the chocolate cake - we'll finish that off later...

Yeah I kind of did the same @utopia. Christmas and birthdays always had books for presents. Having 4 boys who generally had similar interests it meant they were well used. The funny thing is they all had access to the same. I had two avid readers who read all the way through high school. One who only read non fiction and one who never read which was the one with the most access to books S4. Now they tend to not to read although S1 who didn't read a lot when younger (my non fiction one) has picked it up again in adulthood. He has developed a passion for history so it's still non fiction but I'm really proud of him. Your son may ebb and flow with it too. There's much more emphasis on socialising for lots of kids I think and socia l media has probably changed the playing field as far as reading goes. Wow I'm still a bit analytical today even though I'm trying not to be so serious or intense 😳:face_with_rolling_eyes:
