Winter solstice

Re: Winter solstice

Hi @Dimity , sorry to hear about your back pain, oh gosh 😥 Just what you don't need!

Your family situation seems so difficult and thankless 😥 Not to mention painful 😥

Do you mean your social worker, or your family's?

Thanks...I do feel apprehensive, in fact I felt sick with apprehension when I woke up this morning, wondering if I'm doing the right thing in leaving work. But the place has turned toxic. I hope I can go through with it today.

From today (after the winter solstice) it will be getting a bit lighter each day...hoping the same for your situation 🤞

Re: Winter solstice

The "family" don't have a social worker or any organised supports other than bulk billing doctors. I'm going to a social worker for advice which isn't cheap, and probably puts me in a very bad light as I've shared how the present situation and my history resonate. I feel very guilty despite logic telling me I'm not responsible. I felt physically unwell after today's session, which ran well over time.

I'll try to catch up on my backlog of chores. I must be losing track again.

Re: Winter solstice

Oh @Dimity ! So sorry to hear. How fraught. 😥

No wonder you felt physically unwell.

How are you feeling today?

Re: Winter solstice

Today was another day of barely getting by. I'm losing chunks of time which must be smartphone use. Meanwhile house and garden languish.

I guess it's  depression @NatureLover. I feel so self-critical and negative. I'm using my free mood and activity tracker but am considering upgrading it. I know I need to try harder, and also to allow time for relaxation and selfcare of some kind.

I hope you're finding things to look forward to.

Re: Winter solstice

So sorry to hear about your depression, dear @Dimity . Depression is the worst 😭

You sound torn between self-care and pushing yourself. I'm really sorry to hear you feel so self-critical 😥

I hope today is a bit more positive for you 🤞

Sending hugs 🫂 ❤

Re: Winter solstice

Thanks @Appleblossom yes the cold adds to the mix.

Points to ponder in each picture. Received advice on practising visio divina a week or two ago. The weeping koala midst the flames isn't so much a distraction as a reminder of my small-time advocacy.  Perhaps I'm a mosquito to those with power - a small persistent whine reminding them issues are still alive.

A grey day, smattering of rain, distant magpie song. Take care @Appleblossom   I'm glad to have you in my landscape.

Re: Winter solstice

No not torn between effort and self-care @NatureLover - needing to make room for both as both are lacking when I shut down. I need to make time and give them my attention.

Ta ke care

Re: Winter solstice

Pretty miserable weather. @Dimity hope the pictures weren’t too dramatic.  Maybe I was thinking about Fire and Water…. Elements…

I haven’t heard of Visio divina…. Will look it up

went to a seniors chapel service this morning with a friend. It was lovely and I had a cup of warm chicken soup. It can be nicer socialising with a friend than going places alone. I feel I am catching up on girly socialising that I didn’t do when I was a kid.

Re: Winter solstice

The visio divina thing came from Richard Rohr's CAC @Appleblossom . Similar to lectio divina but with images - and in Rohr's style I'm taking the images to be eclectic.

Glad you enjoyed your cuppa soup with a friend - heart and tummy warming.
