Hi Hamza - yes - the place where you are working is like a whirlpool slowly draining the people of their impetence to move forward in life - no prospects, no pay rise, no promotion. Nothing to look forward to but the same-old same-old -
Yes - and seeing people doing less on more pay - excruciating - I have felt that - women know about it - it's the glass ceiling and it is frustrating so I know what you are talking about
But - hey but but but
That could be a great novel - you would need to read a lot about conditions during war time - although my memories of war-time in Australia only beginning with the bombing of Hiroshima I do remember what it was like after the war with rationing, the brown-out city, limited resources in schools and during the war there were no toys for children - my brother and I had other kids' cast-off toys - and this is a FANTASTIC background for a story, either fictitious or true or a bit of both. I think it's a brilliant idea
When I read what your wrote about your novel I immediately thought of the novel 1984 - George Orwell - I recommend it for back-ground work. It's about life in a society ruled by the State as it distinergrates - during war time it would feel as if society was either pulling together but what if the people turned on each other? It's a good question - and I admit I only thought of this difference when I read your post - brilliant idea Hamza - why not write it? They need new writers - we all do need new writers.
I have read two fantastic novels by Australia writers - The Book Thief and The Tattooist of Auchwitz - both set in war-time Germany - during my life I have found I need to read a lot to write a little - which is why I am recommending what to read
And reading what you write here is stimulating me to write here also - I did a lot of private teaching - tutoring - when I was at university - none of what I learned has been wasted and when I teach I learn more than the student
Go for it Hamza - maybe your future is in being an author - but I do know it's a hard place to start
