Something’s not right

Lacking direction, unsure of what I need to do and generally just fed up.......

Re: Lacking direction, unsure of what I need to do and generally just fed up.......

Hey Hams, social anxiety is the pits, I feel for you my friend. Just listened to that song, obviously no idea what they where singing but yes it has a great rhythm. I honestly wouldn't go back to the other gathering if you where not entirely comfortable there. Hope your next gathering is far my enjoyable for you. @MDT

Hey Hams, @MDT

I love listening to calming house music, used to listen to a lot of it back in the day.

I enjoyed the track you posted. Thanks

@MDT  Hey Hans you did well by leaving when the drugs came out my friend. Arent they a bit old to be messing with that kind of thing......You are a very sensible young man. Keep staying away from that sort of thing. peax

Re: Lacking direction, unsure of what I need to do and generally just fed up.......

Indeed pea @Bunniekins
Many are in their early 20s.
It was a rather juvenile affair. There were some people i met last year so that was good i guess.
But it is what it is hey my friend. Too many juveniles can warp your sense of self maybe.

Just getting some coffee now and a bacon roll.

Heading home as now seats here lol.

Gotta look into what Russian novel I can start reading today. Also gotta clean up room for air con installing tomorrow.

I also had a good chat to a friend about my career prospects and he gave me some good pointers.

Onwards with Hams

Hi @MDT . Glad to see you walked away when the party you went to had drugs involved. To be, that shows both courage and strength as well as well as bravery so well done my friend.

Have you given your career choice anymore further consideration? I just saw before on SBS news that the federal government is decreasing degrees in areas of mental health such as social work and psychology due to the big need for people to work in those areas because of this pandemic crisis. Is that an area you'd consider? Maybe something like policy management since you're into writing and research? I see you're no longer a Community Guide so maybe this isn't an area for you and I may have mistaken your career choices? If so, I'm very sorry! It was just something I saw and I thought of you that's all.

What I do know is that there is going to be a big need for mental health people  in 3 years time so by the time I'm finished my degree, there should be work for me in the areas of case management which is where I want to take my degree. My friend is currently being case managed here in Melbourne for her mental health and let's just say I'm not impressed with her case manager as the case manager has a thing for being very lazy and not doing what is expected of a case manager in my opinion like actually finding people relevant supports. This case manager likes thinking that google can do it all if you get my drift!

Gotta go but I'll try and check back in later. Have a great Sunday!

Re: Lacking direction, unsure of what I need to do and generally just fed up.......

How does one become a case manager @Judi9877
That sounds like something I could be interested in.

And yes re the party yesterday - I didn't do anything I didn't want to. I was watching them do it though. People make odd choices hey.

Yeah in regards to writing and research I guess it is what it is. The job market for those skills is a little construed in favour of people who spend heaps of money on another degree.

I have been looking at diploma level business courses as a viable option. I guess, simply put, I want to be able to combine my skills with employment prospects.

My friend provided some good advice to me yestersay which I was thankful for. This friend of mine came to Australia in 2017 from India and he is now moving to Melbourne. I guess his is a story worth hearing in its own right but also due to the lessons one learns when making these moves hey
