Re: Good Morning

You are part of the reason I am following this path, @Former-Member. You are following a path few understand, I would think, and yet it has resonated with me on a level I am trying to fathom. Psychology (mostly psychiatry) and sociology had always been my areas of interest, but I withdrew from my recent course for a number of reasons. Primarily it was because university does not allow dissent and I'm trained to question everything. I refuse to keep my opinions to myself when they are more correct than those being taught. I locked horns several times and decided that it was too costly to traumatize myself over, and just be forced to say what they wanted to hear to keep the peace. I am not a parrot. I am capable of independent thought. I would have liked to continue as it was challenging, and I like challenges. But perhaps it simply was not meant to be. I learned that I was well suited to university level study and that was a necessary lesson. However, my path led on to areas of the same discipline—parapsychology—and, to date, there has been little cost.

Among other things, you have spoken of astrology which is an area I had never given much credence to. But I have started to question how all of these disciplines seem to connect to human consciousness, and it is causing me to pull all of these threads together. It is proving a fascinating study. I am taking it as it falls across my path. I have to paddle my own canoe though. I don't necessarily believe in everything, but I am open to incontrovertible evidence and consider everything. I cannot imagine that I would ever use crystals, for instance, but I know many do. To each his own, and to each his own path.

I am so very much enjoying taking this self-directed path. It's fascinating.

P.S. Your areas of study resonate with me.
