I've never heard of watching TV on mute, @Shaz51! 14 degree nights in your climate? That must have been a shock to your systems! Hope all goes well with you. I'm winding down for the day here.

I'm immersing myself in things 'paranormal' at the moment, @Shaz51. It's called Entangled Minds and written by a fellow who is a scientist at the Noetic Institute in US.
It's tough when you know that telepathy is such a basic function of our humanity and few are aware that they experience it too, although without noticing it for what it is. I feel like I am talking a foreign language, so reading of the research going on is interesting, to say the least. I've learned so much more about human consciousness that it is becoming something of an obsession to learn more. I'm not usually a reader, but perhaps I will become one.
So pleased to read that your mother is doing alright, and that you have been approved for DSP. That must have been such a relief. Happy for you.

Your fleecy jackets sound really lovely @Historylover I hope you feel nice and cosy wearing them over winter. There used to be a morning show in the 80's called "marmalade music" and it was gentle morning classical music. It would be lovely waking up to classical. I used to listen to Drive which was lovely afternoon classical to wind down to. I don't know if they have it anymore but the announcer was such a character. I'm on a bit of an eccentric outpost now with no TV or radio!!! Except internet of course. I love the world of books and have thousands of them. Nowadays I arrange an inter-library loan which is Australia wide and you can avoid costs of books by getting them sent across the country. I try and cut corners financially wherever possible! 🙂

I have only ever read library books, @Former-Member, except for my study books, but unfortunately my current area of interest is not widely catered for in the library network I link to. So, I just have to spend my precious money.
Thousands of books, @Former-Member? That must be an edifying sight. I'm only now moving onto my second shelf, but those I have are precious.
I'm a devotee of ABC Classic radio. It's my only station and my only music style. I just don't understand the attraction to other styles, although I used to be an R&B fan in my youth. I guess we all pass through many styles of everything before we home in on what becomes our established, favourite style. To each his/her own.
There has been so little worth watching on television lately that I have considered turning it off, but it is company.

@HistoryloverI do know that successful CEO's read about a book a day. Cost is prohibitive but my books have been collected over 30 years. I read about five books a month.
"World of Books" is a wonderful used books resource which you can get books on the cheap same with "Brotherhood Books" from the Brotherhood of St Lawrence.
I buy my books used wherever possible or else new. I have a book which I have to collect from the Library on crypto which was only published last year. I love using their Australia-wide search
