Dear @PeppiPatty a part of me wants to believe that the world is a nice and fluffy place ... like a well trained house pet .... that part of me accepts the importance of having a compassionate non-judgemental community tone.
Without that ethic playing out in many of the forum posts and responses the value of the radical therapeutic concepts behind this forum would be undermined.
We need a FREE and FEARLESS space (a community music concept that I think also applies here.)
However anger is a legitimate human feeling (you have vented too ... fair enough ... sorry being personal ... but the capacity to vent as a "right" and a "resource" is a main difference for the more sane and the more privileged). My heart also goes out to those who are in so much pain and rage they can not prettify their anger ... but surely their struggle with negativity is precisely the area that a forum like this should and could address.
It is often fear of our own anger and rage that binds a lot of us up ... I defintiely saw it with my siblings though they were also very sensitive and compassionate people too ... being able to express anger in a non-hurtful manner is a CHALLENGE but one I would like the SANE community address.
Denial of anger is a HUGE DANGER. I have witnessed how disastrously passive-aggression has played out in long term relationships with the apparently - superficially anger-free person causing a great deal of harm. Also anger is an uncomfortable emotion for many people to feel or admit to.
Nobody (well most people) do not want to be seen as violent and it is through allowing regulated expression of anger that we may prevent violence from occurring .... allowing, listening, and acknowledging is necessary for healing rather than pretending it does not exist in us and outside of us.
It is a balance. ... perhaps another complex interactive dance ...one that can help us become the best humans we can be.

Haha @PeppiPatty, can you change over the radio station?
I'm not sure I've had post-regret, I have post-anxiety worrying about how people will interpret what I've written. Has anyone else had this?
The other thing I was curious about, which related to the above point, is there any advice that others have for new people joining the Forums - perhaps for people wanting to write their first post but not sure how?

No I cant change the radio station. He needs this noise every day.
And I only like ABC AM and smooth FM when home. Not this ....hyped up how famous they are on radio garble. it's in the afternoon and it's with a truly awful comedian who used to be on a popular tv channel and he has no talent.

Hi @PeppiPatty
I prefer ABC AM as well and cringed at the hosts of most poprock stations.
I also relinquished the "airwaves" in my family ... it wasnt worth fighting about. Lucky my son had earphones after a while and liked to blare classical music ... still havent really claimed those things back ... will do ... eventually.
post regret ...I dont tend to post as directly to others as you do ... I keep it a vague this is what I think ... and hope no-one takes things personally ... which does not always happen ... but I try to put it out there ... that I care and am trying to change how MI is viewed and managed etc.
what comes out of mouth regret ... yes and no ... I am either too restrained and introvert ... or the flood gates are open.... super anxious and over think everything ... clenched limbs and arms and hands.
but having "a go".
