Re: Art Club

@tyme

I took a screenshot from the video @Oaktree linked to, and then you can place that in the background of the 3D software to 'trace' over to make a sketch.  Then you just use the tools to turn that sketch into a 3d shape.  Then transfer that file to the slicer software (used to convert it to something the printer understands) and paint in there using the available filament colours.

I used a similar method to do some keychains for the support group I started last year.  The friend I started it with had a photo of himself with 5 of his mates from his younger days, so as a bit of a tribute I made a silhouette of that and used it in the background for our logo.  Which i then traced to incorporate it into the 3d printed keychain. Here's how it came out... front and back.

I was tossing up whether do do it as a full 3D model of the polar bear based on the drawing but decided to stick with the exercise. The fact this was a lot simpler had nothing to do with it 😂

@Gremlin24

I've seen some of your work.  I look forward to seeing what you come up with.  No pressure. 😁

Re: Art Club

@MJG017 oh there's lots of pressure 😂

That looks awesome!  How long does something like that take?  Especially with how neat it is.  I even looked to see if there was anywhere you went outside the lines and found nowhere! 😁

Re: Art Club

@MJG017 thankyou. This one i did over 3 days but usually do bits at a time and get distracted easily or have to have a break cos my hand is sore. I try to stay in the lines but there's one spot that I went out, I'm glad you can't notice it 😂

Re: Art Club

@Oaktree @MJG017 @tyme here's another one I did a few years ago now.

Re: Art Club

I’m a bit late so will join in on the next drawing. But I like this. I enjoy art as a distraction

Re: Art Club

Hey @Bow

You are very welcome! I will post the new video tomorrow. I already have one picked out.
