Life can be a Pain

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @Owlunar ... just breezing by and thought I'd call in and say hello to you.

And thanks @Mazarita  too.

Not overly talkative the past few days, so necessarily brief today.  Just wanted you to know I'm thinking of you.

Besides, we have a storm brewing quickly here ... about to hit

Hi Em

Thanks for those terrific pics - I really enjoy the pictures you post - they are like precious gifts and fit in so well with the way I feel

I am very tired - somehow I am getting by. Yesterday I had hayfever and bouts of violent sneezing really set of the shoulder pain. It really was not the best day in my life and it rained here. I had done a load of washing on Sunday and hung most of it inside and it has dried but I put a fitted sheet on the clothes line and it was soaked. This morning it was dragging on the pavers. Life can be interesting at times and hanging things on the clothes line is not fun but I am getting there. My ablation is in 11 days. I'm doing a count-down.

I love your replies but you don't need to reply to everyone. I don't always feel like talking either. That was me yesterday - so flaked out. I decided I had better have some dinner and got the corn cobs out to cook one and the ends were all pink - obviously the cutting machine wasn't cleaned. I lost interest in cooking than and ate the rest of my dimsims - well - we do what we can

Has the storm you had yesterday passed. I know there has been heavy weather up on the east coast. It is all about La Nina - we haven't had much rain in Melbourne lately. And the summer was pretty indifferent. However - after the bushfires last year cooler weather would help the bush regenerate.

I am so glad I got my hair cut - I can just run a comb through it now and put in a couple of clips and I'm done. I was battling with tangles and there was hair everywhere. Was I losing it?

No - just cutting out fine hair tangles with one arm not up to the task was problematic and the hairdresser who cut my hair did a fantastic job. No split ends to make my face itchy and I don't get my ponytail stuck behind me when I sit down

I really hope you are gradually recovering Em. You have been through a really hard time. Yet you really do post such supportive messages to so many of us. Great work

Sending virtual hugs and please give little Holly and bunch of pats from me. My old cat has been gone a long time now and I miss stroking and cuddling her but I don't miss the litter tray.

And my daughter is still recovering from her operation and is seeing her surgeon tomorrow - it's taking longer than she thought it would - that is orthopaedic surgery for anyone - getting over it takes longer

All the best Em - and I should tag other people to read the news

Re: Life can be a Pain

Hi @Owlunar haircut again today. Had my long hair of 20 years cut into a bob just before xmas. Wow, what a difference. So good in many ways. Don't miss the long hair at all! Thanks for the update on how you are going.

Hi @Anastasia @Emelia8 @Shaz51, anyone reading, hope there are some good moments for you today.

Re: Life can be a Pain

@Mazarita

Hi Maz

Thanks for your update on haircuts. I used to have a long ponytail - I had about 20 cm I think and after it was cut and I saw it all over the floor I was sorry I had not thought to contact the Anti-Cancer Council about 20 cm of untreated hair. It was too late.

Short hair is so much easier to manage - time is valuable. If people want to dress their hair every day then that's okay but I found it onerous

Anyway - this time my hair wasn't long enough

I wanted to get back to you about multi-focal v flat lens glasses. I am pleased with the stronger lenses in my regular glasses and I have ordered the stronger lenses for reading glasses but in flat mode so it's easier to read in bed. That is a problem with multi-focals.

I  had bi-focals for a long time - that was fun at university. I would have my head down to write notes then looked up to watch the lecturer and I started to get headaches and feel a bit queezy. Then in the library I would be searching for call-numbers and bobbing my head up and down. Really strange. Multi-focals were better than bi-focals

I hope you can get past the blurry stage of your corrective lens part of your life-journey. When I have gone a long time between lenses I have stood in the shop going "Wow! Wow! Wow!" when everything looks so clear.

It was like the when I got my first pair when I was still young - I forget how old I was now.

All the best today - I hope it is as good as it can be.

Oh yes - I was at the super-market with a SW and saw false eye lashes. I thought for a minute and laughed - if someone wants to use them that's okay too but I would never have the time. I like my priorities

Re: Life can be a Pain

@Owlunar home again with shorter hair, all good. I gave the hairdresser a tip of $20, she was surprised! I think it's the first time I've ever done that at a hairdressers. She was the one who cut off the long hair and gave me this new one about 10 weeks ago. It's made me a happier woman and I was kicking myself I hadn't tipped her then. Made up for it today. She is a young stylist and was thankful I'd asked for her specifically as well. Nice to brighten her day a little. Smiley Happy

May be waiting for a little while still (or a longer while) as my glasses are coming on the government scheme for pensioners, which takes a much longer time than the full priced options. My eyes started getting blurry about 15 years ago. The glasses I wear for reading are quite strong! I also seem to need the volume on the TV up a few notches on anyone else but good enough for now without hearing aids. Smiley Happy
