Thanks guys 🌸🤗💞

@Anastasia @Snowie @Clawde @Bow @outlander @Owlunar @Shaz51 @Appleblossom @Clawde @Eve7 @WIP @Bow @NatureLover @Bunniekins @Bellarose75 @Lee82 @Sans911  ... just to name a few who have tagged me or responded in last few days, either here and elsewhere.

A bit of an update .. finally some good news.  Hubby got home this afternoon.  They finally opened up a section of the highway to allow local residents to get through and that enabled him to get home.  Phew ... so relieved.  Mind you, now I wish he'd stayed away for a couple of days!  He has been like a bear with a sore head.  😵  The highway remains closed to general traffic however, and remains closed just to our North.  The bridge into our main town will remain closed indefinitely due to structural damage, so that means traffic will be diverted through our little village.  Glad I dont live there, as its going to be bedlam.  The river levels continue to drop and some of the inundation is beginning to recede.  The massive lake below our block is beginning to show signs of receding too ... this morning I could see the tops of the fence posts and this afternoon I could even see the bottom of the posts.  Progress!

My radiation oncologist rang this afternoon and I had my consult over the phone.  It was quite informative and reasssuring in general.  I was assured that the continued side effects I've been having from the radiation is normal.  And that everyone has their own timeframe as to how long it will take to improve.  The oncologist checked with me that I had a follow up appointment with my medical oncologist. Which I do in early May.  She also checked that I was seeing my surgeon in the near future as well.  I dont currently have an appointment with him, but she said she would contact him to update him and I should hear about an appointment in around May soon.  She explained that what they like to do is to ensure that for the 12-18 months after cancer diagnosis I see one of the 3 specialists in the medical team .. at least every 3-4 months.  So thats all set up now.  And she is also going to send me a referral to have my next scans and ultrasounds to check on how things are going.  I probably wont have that for a few months, but she wants it done within 13 months of when I had my last scans last October.  I will see my radiation oncologist again in September.

Its looking like I will be able to get Holly in to the vet on Wednesday for her rescheduled ultrasound and other tests. Unless we get another deluge over the next 24 hours.  But hopefully that wont happen.

Anyway .... enough from me ... just wanted to update you on the flood situation here.  Things are on the improve. We are a declared state of emergency area, but the immediate danger is now diminishing.  I'm safe and I'm okay.

Those of you who may be in the new flood emergency areas further South ... please take care and stay safe.  My thoughts are with you.

Re: A Life of Trauma and Tragedy (Possibly Triggering Content)

@Emelia8  You know what Em when I heard that you were without hubby I nearly said why dont you enjoy your peace and quiet but I thought I best not :D!xx

Re: A Life of Trauma and Tragedy (Possibly Triggering Content)

I did enjoy the peace and quiet @Bunniekins ... for all of Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun and half of today. But I was getting concerned about his medications. He only had enough until Wed morning. And a couple of his meds, without any exaggeration, really are vital. Without them ... he would lapse into a coma and die. He has a medic alert to that effect ... but he refuses to wear it. 😱

So Im relieved he was able to get home.
