Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Lots of love from this direction @Shaz51. If the doctor is keen to keep an eye on you as well as your Mum and Mr., youve got a good 'un.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Dear @Shaz51 and hi to all the other regulars here.

So sorry Shaz that your Mum is back in hospital. But it is true that she is in the best place for her right now, where her immediate needs will be met and professional care on hand.

I understand how you may be feeling though. Seeing our loved ones  in hospital with drips, tubes, catheters, etc attached makes us feel so helpless and our loved ones appear so vulnerable.

Little wonder you shed tears. During my husbands month long hospitalisation, I was in tears every day. Its so hard being a carer.

My heart aches for you, and my thoughts are with you. Please take care my dear wonderful friend.

Sherry 💕

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Definitely a "carers breakdown" thing @Shaz51, no matter how hard we try they keep having setbacks. We simply cannot hold back the tide my friend. This ageing process is horrible for many. Even with all my nurse understanding I still become stressed & teary when dad becomes I'll. And the gerontologist explained it well last month "they recover but not fully each time" We musn't expect to much, or feel responsible, its a hard reality. Each setback can feel more and more like its gonna be a thehe last and we might plose them. And Shaz, your own body is struggling. Loads and loads of compassion coming your way. Be gentle with yourself my friend, cuddle up to hubby maybe. You're a beautiful soul so take care of you too xox

@Shaz51 thinking of you and praying

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

@Shaz51 when we love someone we give a part of ourselves to them so when they are not well we too feel it.  Sometimes, being brave is not healthy and letting our tears flow is necessary.

Keeping  you in prayer.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Aw @Shaz51 - I am sorry to hear your Mum is back in hospital - that is sad news indeed

It would be pretty normal to have Carers' Depression I am sure and very normal for you to be weepy that your Mum is crook again - she is around my age I think but has a lot of health issues

Your health isn't good either and you have Mr Shaz to care for as well - no wonder you are weepy -

So I am glad you had a day of watching recorded TV so you could fast forward through the adds ands not have to get up and down to do chores during the breaks

And avoid News Breaks as well because I have the news on right now and it seems like the down-side of Good News Week

So take it as easy as you can and only do the most important things which is taking care of Shaz first and let's know how you are feeling because we all care about you
