Hey @Former-Member thought of you as my sis who works at a nursing home said one of their dementia residents has a picture of their husband and his funeral notice that is framed so that when she asks about him staff can use this to remind her that he passed away.

I DON'TVTHINK I CAN GO TO MY MOTHER'S FUNERAL TOMORROW. SO BROKEN TODAY. EVEN THOUGH I'VE BECOME MY DAD'S CARER, I DON'T WANT TO STAND OR SIT WITH HIM AT DURING THE SERVICE IN CASE HE CALLS ME MUM'S NAME IN FRONT OF PEOPLE OR CONFUSES ME WITH MUM OR MY PRESENCE DETRACTS FROM HIS TIME TO FAREWELL MUM - DAD HAS COGNITIVE DECLINE / EARLY DEMENTIA..

TONIGHT I ASKED MY SON IF I COULD SIT WITH HIM, HE WAS TAKEN ABACK AS HE WANTSVTO SIT WITH HIS COUSINS / YOUNGER PEOPLE (OH MY HEART - OUCH!!). EARLIER I ASKED MY BABY BRO TO PLEASE TRANSPORT DAD AS I NEED TO PULL BACK... HE GOT STROPPY & COMPLAINED ABOUT HOW ITS 1/2HHR OUT OF HIS WAY... (MY DAD'S HOME, THE CHURCH & HIS PLACE ARE EITHIN SIX BLOCKS OF EACH OTHER - THE SAME SUBURB). THEN I ASKED BRO3 TO DO IT - HE GARPED ON THAT HE MIGHT HAVE TROUBLE BEING ON TIME AS HE'S NOT SLEEPING... NOBODY'S GOT MY BACK AND I'M FALLING APART HERE. I'VE GOT TOGETHER ALL DAD'S SUIT & NEW SHOES... AND JUST NOW REALISED I DON'T HAVE MYSELF ORGANISED 😞

CAN'T STOP CRYING, AND MY BACK HURTS.

NOT FEELING LOVED & HAVING TO GIVE GIVE GIVE MAKES ME WANT TO DISAPPEAR. DON'-T BELONG...

MY SON IS STAYING WITH HIS COUSINS / TOXIC SISTER TONIGHT WHICH I'M SURE FEEDS HER ANX AGAINST ME.

AFTER I DROP THE FLOWERS OFF & MY DAD (WHO'S SITTING WITH TWO MY BROTHERS) I MIGHT GO TO THE CRY ROOM OR THE PARK ACROSS THE ROAD. I DONT KNOW

ISNT IT WEIRD THIS TGREAD IS ABOUT MY DIFFICULT MUM & SHE'S DEAD

I DONT KNOW WHAT I FEEL.

yep, i didn't do a runner. last night i tx my so to say i may not be strong enough to endure it if iI i have to sit alone & he will represent my family proud... He decided to sit with me, phew! but they still plopped me near dad anyway but he didnt get me and mum mixed up, phew! The service & lunch went well, so impressed with the church catering ladies, wow! Many commented on my amazing son & the great job he did on the formal Eulogy...

Take the time you need now for you Hon ..... you have likely been running on adrenaline for some time, and the emotional side of things will start to catch up on you ...... load up on self care and time out for you as much as you can to get through the swampy weeks ahead.
