Ooo, no posts for 10 days 😱. and now its not spring 😱😱 lol. Oh well, decluttering has to be an all year round thing for me to come close to getting on top of it.
Spending the last 3wks away hadn't helped. But the best part of that was decluttering (in part) mums room, catching up with lost relatives and the beautiful country views coming home, from the train between Newcastle & Taree via inland Dungog NSW. Amazing country ☺. Worth the stuff up booking online (another story I'll bore u with on a quiet day lol).
Arriving home, walking in my back door after 3wks away, surprised me - that it was tidy - or not as messy as I remember (proof I'm self critical & need more self compassion work). 🌻 its reeeeeeally good to be home. And to hear my birds again 🙂
TODAY I'm tackling the lawn. Came home to 4wks growth after heavy spring rain, worst I've seen it 😨. Some weeds are waist high 😵. Just did 1/2hr = 1/3 of the backyard but the energy just went from my shoulders and arms, all went white & i've had to lay down. Hmm. Neck / back pain doesn't help. Dosed up on pain & allergy pilllls (allergic to grass etc - hay fever, asthma, rashes...). The lawn's not as bad as it looked re bit patchy but hard in thick patches. Resting and chatting here & 500ml sparkling mineral water has helped take away the faints. Glad you are here saneforums. Gotta go buy more fuel, sigh. They've forecast rain for a week tonight so the lawn is a priority TODAY. I did ask my friend to find someone to do it, when it rained so much while I was away (I'll pay) but that was too hard. No matter, I saved $ & get exercise.
Getting there ☺
What has the lawn got to do with decluttering you might ask. Well, i think anything that crowds us, looks messy or interferes with function - it needs sorting! Besides, I like outside so its a good start to get me going.
Well, stretching out neck & back spasms.
Back to work!
Check in later 💜

Aw @Former-Member
I saw the pics of what I think is your back yard - wow - weeds grow so fast - and I do not like the idea of clearing that up
Actually rather than mow such long grass it's better to use a scy the - that way you can swish the weeds down - but then - that would be hard work too - perhaps you can pay a guy to come and do it -
I have a small paved courtyard - some of the weeds come through the pavers in small pretty grasses - others are fast-growing tall ones - and they need pulling constantly or get out of control -
So - for interest sake - what is the definition of a weed - eg - I have a lot of what could be a toxic plant growing around my place but it has a pretty flower and grows quickly and covers the ground - so I don't think that's in the weed department in my definition - but then - if a 1,000 year old famous tree was growing in the middle of the Melbourne Cricket Ground would be a weed because that would be growing where no one wants it.
I guess such an old tree would have been there first though
Still - that is so much work - and about work like that and pain-killers - take the pain-killers when you have finished for the time being because you can cause yourself more pain by working under the effects of pain-killers - and of course this might make the whole thing take longer
btw we still have a few weeks left of spring - and please let me know what your summer thread will be called and well done!!!! with all you have achieved this spring - wow - dealt with so much stuff at your home, your parents' affairs and the work there - and been away - seen a friend and spent time with your son - wow
Did you foresee that at the beginning of spring? You have done a lot - and it sounds as if that trip was well planned and enjoy

Aw @Former-Member
Having it all done before your girl's 21st birthday - ahhhhhhh- what - I have moved so many times in my life it has never been a problem to ditch stuff -
Whatdayaknow - in a few weeks my son's birthday will be around again - and he would be turning 48 - and I can never get my head around his age in the last years
Whereas my daughter is younger she is in her forties too but I see her often and it's not hard that the years are passing but my son will always have acne but never wrinkles
I know how it feels Lapses - always thinking of you

I am glad to be able to catch up and all of this sounds like something from The Wizard of Oz and this must be highly challenging
Even though you knew something like this was in your future now it seems to be happening and I guess you wonder what's next - and how I wish I could write something helpful
So some aspects are being treated but that is causing major brewing-up issues for other areas - has this always been the case but now it's more acute and more uncontrolable - even if you wanted to be
Wow - how I wish I could wave my magic wand - not that I have one
Sending the usual best thoughts
